Ok. Every man needs a good briefcase. Emphasis on 'good'. Like suits and outerwear, a briefcase will last what seems to be a lifetime. You don't want to walk around for the next 10 years with an awful and poorly crafted bag. Choose an entirely leather briefcase. There are many options that mix suede, canvas, cotton etc. with the leather. That is fine for duffles but not a briefcase. Keep your briefcase simple. The briefcase pictured is the Mulberry Heathcliffe leather briefcase in brown. Mulberry is acclaimed for its fine leather goods. They specialize in quality and effortless style. A good briefcase like this will always cost quite a lot. That is ok. Even if you are on a budget, spend a few months putting some money aside until it is reachable. You really want to have very good leather accessories. Finally, the bag is relatively loosely structured which is more than perfect. Really rigid briefcases are a thing of the past or a thing of mod punks. Go onto Mr Porter and make a wise decision. You won't regret it. JB
