The Penny Loafer

Just in the same way that a large swordfish needs the ocean, the well dressed man needs the brown suede penny loafer. Take a walk through Oxbridge (Oxford and Cambridge University) and take note of the men's shoe of choice. Surprise, it is the brown suede penny loafer. I probably don't need to tell you that you should never wear this shoe with your business attire (I'm assuming suit & tie) but for almost any other occasion it is a great choice. If you are in love with this style of shoe and want to wear them more often then consider choosing a black or dark brown leather composition as an alternative. On any post in this blog subjected around loafers I often recommend leaving the socks at home unless paired with a full formal look. This is no exception. Look, if it is on the cold side and you are chilly it is ok to wear socks with loafers but come on man up. Look to classic English shoe makers to be your suppliers because they do PLs superbly. Go dress well.
